Paraskevidekatriaphobia…
Noun
fear of Friday the thirteenth
Sooooo I know I was going to hold back on the short stories for a while but I just have to share my latest one with you. I really enjoy condensing a plot into a matter of lines and the Morgen Bailey monthly challenge is one I have enjoyed taking part in.
This months theme is ‘SUPERSTITIOUS’. If you fancy a go at flash fiction head over to the below link and send in your entry:

Here is my attempt this month:
Paraskevidekatriaphobia
“Oooh we should play that game” giggled Evanora, “you know? Light as a feather, stiff as a board.”
“What’s that?” Theodora questioned.
“Easier to show you.”
“Now Glinda, you lay there and we’re going to lift you, using only two fingers.”
“Ready?”
“Light as a feather, stiff as a board.”
“Light as a feather, stiff as a board,” a chorus of 12 chanted.
“Look! She’s floating.”
Thwack!!! Wallop!!!
“Evanora? What’s that noise? Evanora?!”
Waiting reply, Locasta stirred the pot. Darn! After last time she should have known better: Friday 13th was no day for a sleepover.
“Oh, hello Obsidian.”
“Meeeooowww!”
