The Liebster Award…

“Liebster” is a German word meaning beloved or dearest.

Wow!! My first nomination for this award and I am so very honored to receive it, in such a short space of time.  This is certainly motivation for blog posts to continue!

My Questions:

1. What is your favorite meal?

Everyone loves a good steak right? Medium rare, sweet potato fries, onion rings, red wine sauce with mushrooms! My mouth is watering already! Delicious!!

2. Do you prefer a lake or the Ocean?

Hmm difficult question.  I am such a water baby.  I love anything to do with water.  I have seen some absolutely beautiful lakes with crystal clear waters.  The ocean however is so vast and full of wonder and opportunity.  That said; I think I’m going to have to go with a lake.  Lake Como is on my hit list!

3. If you went to NYC where would be the first place you’d want to go?

Arrgh! NYC is also on my bucket list.  I’d go at Christmas time, just after Thanksgiving and probably go ice skating in Central Park. I love a bit of nostalgia.

4. If you could meet anyone from history who would it be?

Freddie Mercury!  What a legend!  I can just image rocking out to him at Wembley!  He was a proper entertainer and commanded an audience!

5. Where is your favorite place?

If I was to go with a country, it would be Italy.  It is absolutely breathtaking and so full of history!  Me and my husband are hoping to do a tour of France and Italy next year.

If you are on about a literal place; I’d go with my home, watching a film with my family (son, daughter and husband) with glass of Prosecco in hand.

6. I’m coming to dinner. What will you serve?

Not pizza, chocolate or cottage cheese, that’s for sure! Hmm, how about steak?  Everyone loves steak, yes? 😉

7. What was/is your favorite subject in school?

At Primary/Secondary school this was P.E. I was a bit of a beast on the netball court if I do say so myself.  All went downhill when I met my first boyfriend though.  At College/University I studied Law.  I think I must have been watching too much Legally Blonde at the time and was inspired to become a Lawyer. Didn’t pan out that well though and I’ve since ended up in Project Management.  Still well up for a debate though.

8. Tell me a quote you love.

Not a quote, quote as such but I love this verse in Bob Dylan’s Mr. Tambourine Man:

It’s not aimed at anyone

He’s a lyrical genius (in my opinion).

9. Do you have any pets?

Not yet, we are thinking of getting mans best friend however.  Think it would be good for the children.

10. Recommend me a book or 37!!!

Flowers in the Attic (Virginia Andrews).  This is an amazing book.  I remember reading it when I was quite young.  The sequels aren’t as good but I couldn’t put this novel down.  I read it not long ago and I still enjoyed it.  Based loosely on a true story makes it even more gripping.  Certainly questions a mothers character!

11. If you could live forever, would you?

Very difficult question.  There is something quite poignant about being but a spec of dust in time.  I think I’m more interested in whether or not there is a higher being or whether this life serves a purpose?  I’d like to think so but will have to wait and see.

Would I like to live forever?  I don’t know quite honestly.  There is an argument for both sides.  Maybe its something to think about, next blog post perhaps?
